Book #4 in the Blue Moon series. Reviews for the preceding books can be found here: No More Secrets (book 1), Fall Into Temptation (book 2), and The Last Second Chance (book 3).
There are no more Pierce brothers in the picture, there are Merrill girls now! Emma is Gianna's sister (see Fall Into Temptation for Gianna's story). Emma moves to Blue Moon and manages the newly founded Pierce Brewery. Summer's
(see No More Secrets for Summer's story) accomplished photographer friend, Niko, strides into Blue Moon with his sexy self on his bad boy motorcycle to help Summer with her work and take a bit of a break from the big city corporate world himself. This creative bachelor is instantly attracted to the organized and spreadsheet type that Emma is, but he is not part of Emma's plan.
Three Pierce brothers and three Merrill girls, Lucy Score is giving us all of their stories. The more you dive into Blue Moon the more you love each character, the town itself, and all the dynamics at play. Another family dynamic at play here is estrangement, and a step family never really known. It makes you pause to think about the consequences of not talking about things and letting so much time go by.
4/5 stars.
If you're already reading the Blue Moon series, I recommend you continue to do so. If you're this far in, I'm assuming you're enjoying the series!
For those who are familiar with Lucy Score books or already love her writing, you will continue to do so. The books follow the same formats and kind of themes, but their reliability, consistent writing, her ability to make you laugh, fall in love, feel, and deliver a deliciously sweet happily ever after are solid. I will say it again: I love the way Lucy Score writes about family and the different dynamics and types of families.
