Another feel good RomCom by Lucy Score. I am biased because I love her writing. Easy to read, lovable characters, although the main female character here is a bit too “woe is me,” in my opinion. But, who wouldn’t be after a break up, job loss, broke, and moving back in with your parents at nearly 40 to a hometown you avoid?
Fortunately for our girl Marley, that hot guy from HS still has his eyes set on her, helps her out of her funk, gets her back on track, and figuring out what really matters to her - what she really wants. She also learns that all that glitters is not gold, and what people put out for everyone to see is what they want them to see. But, things are not always as they seem. Sounds a bit like social media, doesn’t it? The very people she admires and perhaps even envies to some degree actually look at her in the same way for very different reasons.
Of course, there is a happily ever after for all involved!
4/5 stars for this one.
