Book Review: The Ladies Road Guide to Utter Ruin by Alison Goodman

The title is why I picked up this book, and it did not disappoint! Lady Augusta and Lady Julia are two single sisters in the 18th century. Rare for women during this time, they are truly free and financially independent- they definitely have the means, and they know all of this. So what do they do? They help other women who do not have the luxury of financial independence and freedom that they do, and they help them escape bad situations.

In this novel, we see them help a woman who has been thrown into an asylum by her brother because she is a lesbian, take down a horrendous club that does unspeakable sexual things to women to the point where some never make it out alive, exonerate a man who has been unjustly charged with murder, and take a stand for the men they fell in love with.

This is a really wonderful read, and highly recommend. I would give it 4/5 stars. Buy your copy here.
